In January 2009 Marriott Hotels has completed a "Nip & Tuck" refurbishment at 38 of its UK hotels. The 24-month project was the biggest investment to date for Marriott in terms of upgrading its four and five star UK properties. The majority of the work undertaken included creating a fresh new look for hotels incorporating four design schemes - "country club", "urban", "international" and "bespoke". The refurbishment has effectively transformed Marriott`s UK property portfolio with hotels receiving upgrades across bedrooms, function spaces and food and beverage installations. To date, over 5,000 bedrooms have been completely refurbished along with 31 new restaurants, brasseries and coffee bars, and 300 meeting rooms. In all 4 design schemes the rooms and public areas are assembled with luminaires from Baulmann Leuchten, Germany.
